Frequently Asked Questions

Is the side car safe?

Yes. Our Ural motorcycles are assembled in North America and are fully certified by the US Department of Transportation. We strictly abide by the same rules and regulations as any other motorized vehicle traveling on public roads and highways.  Sidecar motorcycles have 3 wheels, so they are very safe and stable. They are safe for adults and children alike. Ural sidecar motorcycles are not fast vehicles; they are built for pleasant cruising, not for high-speed driving. We typically will not exceed 50-55 mph. Some adventures include off road travel. Rest assured, regardless of the road surface, our experienced drivers will provide a comfortable and safe adventure.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

Yes. There is nothing more important to us than your personal safety! Arizona law does NOT require drivers and passengers over the age of 18 years old to wear helmets. However, it is our strict company policy for everyone to wear DOT-approved helmets. We provide (at no additional cost) helmets of all sizes, with full face visors to protect against wind, weather, and bugs. Helmets and visors are cleaned and sanitized after every use.

All helmets are equipped with Bluetooth communication systems which allow for a continuous, crystal clear conversation between our drivers and passengers.

Are there any physical restrictions?

Sidecars can handle approximately 600 lbs. of total weight including the driver and passengers. For safety reasons, your driver reserves the right to seat passengers in either pillion (behind the driver) or sidecar to more evenly distribute weight.

All passengers must (1) be big enough to fit in our DOT certified helmets and (2) a pillion passenger (behind the driver) must be able to comfortably rest their feet on the passenger foot pegs.

Give us a call if you are uncertain whether a passenger meets adventure requirements. 2-3 Ranch Sidecar Adventures reserves the right to make decisions that support the safety and wellbeing of the passenger and driver.

What is your cancellation policy?

  • Driver cancellation due to safety/weather*: 100% refund.

  • 48 hours or more before a tour time:  100% refund.

  • Less than 48 hours before a tour time:  No refund.

  • Adventures will be canceled in temperatures above105 degrees.

How many people can ride during a sidecar adventure?

Our Ural sidecar motorcycles can carry up to three people comfortably, our professional driver and two passengers (one in the sidecar and one on the “pillion” located directly behind the driver). Both are very comfortable and provide great open-air views from a slightly different perspective.

What if it rains?

That would be an AWESOME day in Arizona! We are equipped and experienced for rain (windscreen, gloves, poncho, helmet with goggles).

In the event of heavy rain that is determined to be an unsafe riding environment by the driver, you will receive a FULL refund so that you may reschedule the tour at your convenience. We will try to make the call on weather two hours prior to your start time. Because weather is unpredictable, 2-3 Ranch Sidecar Adventures and its drivers reserve the right to make last minute decisions to ensure the safety of the driver and passenger(s).

May children take a sidecar adventure?

YES! However, there are a few requirements. All passengers must (1) be big enough to fit in our DOT certified helmets and (2) pillion passengers (behind the driver) must be able to comfortably rest their feet on the passenger foot pegs.

Give us a call if you are uncertain whether a passenger meets these requirements. 2-3 Ranch Sidecar Adventures reserves the right to make decisions that support the safety and wellbeing of passengers and drivers.

PLEASE NOTE: Minor Indemnification (waiver) requires a parent or legal guardian signature.

Will I get bugs in my teeth?

If you choose to adventure with your helmet visor in the up position, our guaranteed smiles present a small risk of bugs in your teeth :)
